Anticipation 👍❤😂😲😪😡

Life is…

Lately, life seems as though it’s lived behind the internet. You’ve got Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, all those swipe-to-date thingamajigs and I’m sure much more that’s as far as my coolness spreads. I have Twitter I rarely use it. I use Instagram sometimes when I remember it’s there. Snapchat is even more sparse sometimes I see a notification go up that someone’s posted something and I’ll check it out. TikTok was entertaining for a second. And Facebook is the one I tend to use the most in order to let those that are not around, know what’s going down in the life of the Groths’. 80% of the time it’s the bambino because we spend the most time together. Anyway to the point.

How often do you post something and immediately wonder who will

👍❤😂😲😪😡.

Which will they choose how many will click it, who clicks it, who comments…. how many people are paying attention to ME… WHAT?

Friends we in the older internet generation might be like “oh cool someone saw that post” we might check it to see who’s keeping up with us. And we go about our day right. Here is my concern as our kiddos grow and age.

Some out there LIVE to be 👍❤😂😲😪😡’d
They need it.

They need it as validation as a statement to say I’m cool, people are listening to what I say, and do people are “following” me.

I have friends, I’m worth something.

Kiddos, and young adults, even without all of your avenues for posting your voices are just as important and loved even if you use them IRL (in real life)

In today’s world more so than ever before we have to get people back to being comfortable making eye contact and talking vs texting. Holding conversations for more than 5 minutes without being distracted.

The internet is not a bad thing, using it for connecting is not a bad thing, relying on it like it’s a life source=bad thing. The need to be validated through it = danger Will Robinson (Lost in Space, a TV show before my time, still referencing it)

Life is… a gift. So like many things in life we have to find a balance between school/life balance, work/life balance, and behind a screen/with actual people balance.

And when we see others becoming lost in spending too much time online we have to bring them back to reality before they forget what reality is all about. Connecting not by bandwidth but with words and eye contact 🤯
