Our son is going on 6 years old and he LOVES all things superheroes. And I think it’s great! To me, they build confidence in kids making them feel like they can do anything when it comes to conquering the world. We, adults, know that as you grow in life some lose confidence due to the way life has happened to unfold, or due to being talked down to, not encouraged, and not enough people in the world telling you, you can do anything. This parenting thing isn’t easy. Kids WATCH you so closely. They mimic what we do and how we feel and act. Days in the adult world aren’t easy you’ve got life, bills, and responsibilities. And those are GOOD things for kids to witness, but how we go about the day-to-day is watched and recorded. So be that superhero. It doesn’t mean you have to dress up and go all out. But it does mean in today’s world of TVs and Phones that we need to be aware of our presence in their life. Do cool things, have an adventure, build their confidence, and go out and explore. This is something I’m striving to do this year. Because they will be grown and gone before we know. I want my children to start feeling like they can do anything today! The sky is the limit in this life, but you also only have this one life to live so make it count!
This a great verse for kids to memorize! For us adults too 😉
Corinthians 16:13 Remain alert. Keep standing firm in your faith. Keep on being courageous and strong.
