Ya’ll in 2020 when the world was flipped upside down, I flipped our family’s house upside down as well.
I started digging into the world of Natural products. First up was the face. I’d battled my whole life with cystic acne. As a teen, I was on Accutane three different times. I cringe at that now. I’ve gone to face specialists and tried every proactive, Cetaphil, CeraVe, or Neutrogena. Finally, in my 40’s, I found my Face, which has some scars from the years. As a teen, I’d try to pop the cysts with a pin needle to relieve the pain. It was a process, and still is if I am honest due to some of the life changes to get here.
Two things had to change internally: I’d go months with or without these changes to see if it was indeed a factor. The first of these is Dairy- I LOVE Dairy, cheese is, or was my go-to comfort, as was ice cream! The second was gluten the two combined the worse the cyst outbreak.
On occasion, I still eat these things when I don’t want to turn food down when at friends. Most often it’s out of my system enough that a one-off won’t affect me as long it’s not days in a row.
The external change: Product. I find that all-natural ingredients soothe my face whereas processed ingredients irritate it. The less junk in the ingredients the better. I found this brand Mad Hippie, it was the first all-natural brand I tried and I am grateful it worked. It’s a bit more pricey than the grocery store Neutragena pick-up, but it’s worth it in my book.
I have a face routine now, I used to dread washing my face due to the pain of touching cysts. Now my face time is one of my favorite times of the day!

Cream Cleanser in AM, Vit C Serum, Face Cream, (Their sunscreen during high UV seasons)
Cleansing Oil in PM, Vit C Serum, Face Cream, Eye Cream, Triple C Night Cream.
