Music makes the world go round, is something I’ve thought to myself often over the course of my life. Music is something that can tie movies and television shows together so well! So many shows do an amazing job at placing a song in a moment that makes you go YAS. Music fills the silence, a car, a room, or a stage/arena, it fills the space. The lyrics though the lyrics are what reach us. Sometimes we seek lyrics out. Sometimes we hear them and say I needed to hear that song! One thing that drives me crazy lately is all the cursing in music. Some songs would be amazing if they weren’t saturated with it. There are generations of great songs with amazing lyrics without having to curse. I guess it just makes me sad because it feels like creativity is being compromised. So grateful to all the bands and solo artists out there that Move the world through lyrics that make us feel.
Today I was listening to 88.3 a Christian station and a Mathew west song-Grace Wins came on that had me thinking YAS lyrics speak to me! Christian Music is primarily what I listen to in the car as I know curse songs won’t come on and that will keep my children from hearing and repeating ugly words AND Christian Music has a LOT of moving lyrics, probs why worship through song is one of my favorite things in a day. But a lot of lyrics Move me. And that’s A-okay because there are a lot of positive messages in many different avenues of music. What are some lyrics you love? How have they moved you?
