In a world full of sad and morbid times, it’s always a good feeling to hear of something good being done. I don’t really listen to the news as it is depressing. It is rare when something good is highlighted and too often that you hear of sad and disturbing things.

What are we doing though? Do we just sit by and listen to what’s being done? How do we become a change? How do we bring back a bit of innocence for the future state of the world? The wiser we get with technology the more possibilities we unleash to help harm creep in at the click of a button. Does that terrify anyone else? We need more people that use that knowledge for good versus evil. Like the kid that created an app for people to find handicap-accessible places. How cool! And a kid nonetheless.

Take it down a level to just your day-to-day interactions. How do we do Good or spread joy? The most popular being pay it forward, pay for someone else’s food, gas, drink, bill…

That is amazing and kind but takes little interaction and probably why it’s so popular of a choice for doing good. Also, it’s safe. Pulling over to help someone change a tire. Or someone stranded on the side of the road. Could be one of those gangs, or someone setting up to rob you. Which has taken the joy of helping others and put fear in our site instead.

How do we push past the fear and trust God?

Matthew 5:16

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Psalm 37:3

Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.

Trust in the Lord and do Good. If you think of a way to spread good but you fear that it could be dangerous ask the Lord (pray about it) (pray through it for protection) and take a chance on something new. Continue to find ways to be light in a world of darkness. Show others that good can overcome bad, we just have to smother it out. And that takes an army!
